8 weeks to go until the national demo

It’s an exciting time for students’ unions as you start to welcome new membership and we are aware that you will all be working extremely hard. Good news comes as a number of national organisations have committed to support the national demo, including the BYC (, TUC ( and Student Radio Association (

We have also had a productive meeting with BUCS, and I am pleased to announce that on Tuesday we will be jointly circulating details to support Unions in this area.

With only 8 weeks to go until the big event we wanted to remind you of the support that NUS has to offer.

NUS Connect Resources

On here you can find all the information you need to plan and mobilise for the national demo including model letters to send to MPs, guidance on safeguarding and sign-up sheets.

Demo 2010 Website:

Sign up to show your support for the national demo, upload your photos and events and keep tabs on recent news. Encourage your friends, friends of friends and families to sign up using our ‘share with friends’ feature on the homepage.

Promotional Materials

Flyers and posters are being distributed to you now and you should have received them by the end of the week.

You can also download promotional materials from the demo website, including videos from the NEC that you can add into the ones you’re creating, PowerPoint slides, black and white flyers and logos.

Hardship Fund Application
Do you need support funding transport costs? Applications for the hardship fund are due to close on Wednesday 22 September. You can download the form here: fundourfuture.
