Vacancy for Campaigns Support Worker at ULU

University of London Student Union (ULU) are offering an amazing and pivotal part-time opportunity for someone to become our highly involved ‘Campaigns Support Worker’. It will help ULU to equip new generations of student activists and SUs to be a force for change in achieving local and global social change.

The role will provide communications, supporting volunteers & part-time officers as well as organising events and training ensuring that liberation and significant single- issue campaigns will be co-ordinated on a London-wide basis through the University of London Union for maximum impact and efficiency.

This will be ideal for someone with experience from a campaigning (or similar) group who has organised an event or project. You must be able to demonstrate an ability to engage with a diverse range of people using outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Proven time-management skills are vital as is the ability to support and coach individuals and deal professionally in the face of alternate views and priorities. Design skills and experience of writing communications for mass distribution (web, magazine or newsletters) would be a real bonus.

Pay will be the equivalent of the London living wage and the role will run from the first academic term in 2010, coverings 2 days a week (totalling 10.5 hours p/week) over the course of 24 weeks. Based in ULU, WC1.
